Saturday - July 5, 2008

Today is the ONLY day we were able to see the Cotopaxi Volcano. It is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world; it erupts every 100 years. The last eruption was about 104 years ago. So every time an alarm would go off in the morning at the Seminary, the volcano was the first thing to enter my mind!
We all loaded onto the bus at 9:15am and started making our way to the Mindo Rainforest. It was about a 3-hour drive winding through the Andes Mountains. The scenery was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
We hiked a short ways and then zip-lined across a gorge!
