Today we attended church at the Seminary, and then Pastor Buck connected to the in-progress church service back home at New Hope. He was able to pan the laptop around to show all of us waving to everybody back home!
We went to the San Golqui Open Air Market. They had flowers, grains, breads, vegetables, meats, eggs, toys and clothes for sale in "stalls" back-to-back.

Pastor Matt introduced us to an Ecuadorian fruit (nicknamed "boogers"). You crack it open with a butter knife, then spoon out all of the seeds inside. The seeds are all covered/connected with the "slime" inside. You eat the seeds (and the slime) just like you would sunflower seeds. If you eat the actual seeds, they are very good for you.
These are just 2 of the many statues we saw all over Quito.

If you look closely at the tops of these walls, you can see an Ecuadorian form of "barbed wire." They break bottles or glass and create this line of protection on their property to keep people from climbing over the walls.
